Best Action Shows on Amazon Prime Video Right Now (2026)

If action is your genre, Amazon Prime Video is currently the best platform on streaming. Here are the shows worth your time — ranked.

1. Reacher (2022–Present) ⭐ 9/10

The gold standard. Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher is the most satisfying action hero on any streaming platform — enormous, methodical, and ruthless. Each season adapts a different Lee Child novel and reinvents itself while keeping the formula that works.

Why it's number one: The fight sequences have genuine consequence. Reacher doesn't just win — he dismantles opponents with the same precision he uses to solve cases. Three seasons in and the show has not had a weak one.

2. The Boys (2019–Present) ⭐ 9/10

Superhero action crossed with savage satire. The action set pieces are extraordinary — particularly in the later seasons when the show's budget expanded alongside its ambitions. Homelander versus Soldier Boy in Season 3 is one of the great television fights.

Best for: Viewers who want action that means something. Every fight in The Boys has stakes and consequences.

3. Fallout (2024) ⭐ 9/10

Post-apocalyptic action-adventure with the production design of a prestige film and the pacing of a thriller. Walton Goggins' Ghoul delivers action sequences with genuine personality — the character fights dirty and smart in ways that feel specific to who he is, not just choreographed.

Best for: Anyone who has played the games, and anyone who has not.

4. Invincible (2021–Present) ⭐ 9/10

Amazon's animated superhero series is not for children. Based on Robert Kirkman's comics, Invincible follows teenager Mark Grayson as he develops superpowers — and discovers his father is the most powerful superhero on Earth, with a secret that changes everything.

The action is extraordinary because it has consequence — characters get genuinely hurt, sometimes killed. The show earns every emotional beat through the physical reality of what superhero violence actually looks like. Season 2 and 3 expand the scope to a level that rivals any live-action production.

5. The Terminal List (2022) ⭐ 7.5/10

Chris Pratt plays a Navy SEAL who returns from a catastrophic mission and begins uncovering a conspiracy. Efficient, well-shot military action — Pratt is very good in a role that plays against his usual persona. Eight episodes, self-contained story.

6. Jack Ryan (2018–2023) ⭐ 8/10

Four seasons of John Krasinski as Tom Clancy's CIA analyst turned field operative. The show escalates confidently from Season 1's grounded terrorism thriller to globe-spanning political intrigue. Now complete at four seasons — an excellent binge.

7. Outer Range (2022–Present) ⭐ 7.5/10

Josh Brolin's Wyoming rancher discovers a mysterious void on his property while trying to protect his family from external threats and dark family secrets. Part Western, part sci-fi, part mystery thriller — genuinely strange in ways that reward patience.

8. Citadel (2023) ⭐ 7/10

Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra as elite spies who lose their memories after a catastrophic mission. The action sequences are spectacular. The story takes time to find its footing but rewards commitment — and a second season is confirmed.
